S. Palaniandi Mudaliar Charitable Trust was established in 1975 under the guidance of Sri S.P. Sambandam. Initially, in 1976, it commenced as a modest outpatient clinic. Over the years, it expanded into SPMM Hospital by 1997, now boasting 100 beds and providing a comprehensive array of specialty services to the community.
- 1975 – Establishment of the S. Palaniandi Mudaliar Charitable Trust by Sri S.P. Sambandam.
- 1976 – Initiation of outpatient department (OPD) services catering to impoverished patients.
- 1997 – Expansion of services to a 100-bedded hospital encompassing various specializations
- 2000 – Up gradation of the hospital to provide super-specialty medical services.
- 2004 – Inauguration of Salem’s premier full-fledged Cardiac Centre, pioneering advanced cardiac care.
